02/11/04 Upper Allen Twp., Cumberland County, Pa:  Upper Allen Twp. Fire Dept., Lower Allen Fire Dept., and Silver Springs Twp. Fire Dept. Was dispatch to the exit ramp of the Pennsylvania turnpike and route 15 in Upper Allen twp. For a reported vehicle accident with entrapment.  Engine 1-23, engine 2-23, and engine 1-33 were first dispatch to the scene.  EMS and State Police arrives on scene and found to individuals heavily entrapped.  Minutes later Life Lion was then ordered to fly to the scene.  Squad 12 then was requested by Chief 23 and dispatch to assist with the difficult rescue.  Chief 23 arrives on the scene and establishes Command 23.  Command orders engine 1-33 to stage before the accident scene and to send its crew to engine 1-23 to assist with hazard control.  Engine 2-23 assumed the duties of the landing zone officer and safely landed Life lion in a near by field. Command ordered squad 12 to proceed to the scene and set up a tool staging area.   Engine 1-23 and squad 12 crews’ were able to work together has two extrication teams and freed the entrapped occupants.  They were both removed and placed on a long boards and transferred to the EMS crews.  The two victims were then transported to Life lion to be flown to a trauma center.
