This early evening fire was reported by neighbors when they noticed smoke exiting the roofline of the home. First arriving units reported a working house fire with heavy smoke from the eves.

An aggressive interior attack was initiated by Hampden FD, Washington of Mechanicsburg, and Navy firefighters. Rapidly changing fire and smoke conditions prompted command to evacuate the structure and change to a defensive operation. A second alarm was struck then for additional manpower and to help cope with the very warm weather conditions. A good external attack by the aerial on scene allowed crews to rapidly re-enter the home for overhaul and salvage operations.

Fire damage was held to divisions 2 and 3 with the rest of the home suffering only smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported
