The Lansford Fire Company hosted its fall Flashover Survival Class.  Members of Jim Thorpe Diligent and Phoenix Fire Company participated in the class.  The purpose of the class is to teach firefighter to recognize the signs of a flashover and what to do to survive a flashover.  Using a simulator built by Swede Survival, firefighters can safely view an actual flashover and practice techniques taught in the class to survive.  The instructors are certified by Swede Survival and have been running classes 4 times a year since 2003.  Classes are held twice in the spring and twice in the fall.  For more information contact Asst. Chief Ron Hood or 2nd Asst. Chief Joe Greco at fd15@ptd.net or visit www.angelfire.com/pa5/lansfordfire .
