Tire Fire in Southern Schuylkill County

Units Dispatched:    Fire District 56 (Orwigsburg), 47 (Landingville), 42 ( Deer Lake), Stations 1 & 4 ( Schuylkill Haven), 34 (Summit Station) EMS.

 

Fire Districts 47 & 56 were dispatched to a reported tire fire at Auchey’s Junk Yard. Chief 56-02 arrived on scene to find a large pile of tire on fire. Chief 56-02 requested tankers from Station 4, District 42, 34, and 55. While fighting the tire fire a brush fire started behind the blaze on the mountain. Water was shuttled from a nearby creek at the second Mountain Rod & Gun Club.
